To take advantage of ID.4 free charging with the Electrify America promo, just download the app on your smartphone of choice and set up an account. Your Volkswagen dealer will provide you with an enrollment code, which you’ll enter along with your VIN. Then, just enter your payment information (for any idle fees or taxes) and you’ll be good to go!
While it’s great to charge on the go around Pomona, most EV drivers charge their vehicles from home as well. You can either plug your Volkswagen ID.4 right into a standard three-prong outlet (this is called Level 1 charging), or have a dedicated EV charger installed in your home by an electrician (Level 2 charging). While Level 1 charging is cheaper and more convenient, it’s also much slower and often takes multiple days to top off your battery. Most drivers end up installing a Level 2 charger to get the battery back up to full capacity in 12 hours or so.
